Do people use crystal meth at the same time everyday?
Is this different for everyone? Or is there a time
of day that most meth addicts will choose to get high?
I have read that some people do a line as soon as
they wake up...so they can start their day.
When you get high, do you think about being able to sleep at
night....or is that not on your mind? Say, if you smoked some
in the A.M....would that last a person all day and then maybe
they could sleep at night when they would be 'coming down'?
Why would anybody want to get
high, say at 4pm? Does someone
who is becoming addicted PLAN WHEN to get high, so that it
meshes with the rest of their day? Or does the using get so
out of control, they loose track and just start using when
ever they need it...day or night.
If a high can last up to 10 hours (?) then it seems like a
person would only want to get high in the morning and not late
in the day.
Sorry I have a hard time wording my questions. And maybe its a dumb question anyway. Maybe when you USE you really have no control of HOW LONG a high
will last...therefore you dont really stay on a schedule

That's possible, but not the case for many users, some maybe.

Yes, you have some control. but it isn't about the high as much
as it is about the pain of coming down. Meth users spend more
resources avoiding the comedown than on getting high. The high
loses ts glamour and attraction very early in the addiction
process. VERY EARLY

VERY EARLY??
that sorta confuses me
when I have read about spouses leaving the house 'angry' or
whatever and then return later 'all happy'. And then it is
obvious, yeah, they went and got high. and from reading that
persons story...I knew/got the impression that they had been
struggling with the addiction for awhile.
anyway the person I know of that uses...got caught. Said she
used only a 'couple times'.... cause it helped with some
depressing times she had. (I dont think I had ever really seen
her depressed, always happy... almost overkill happy) So anyway
supposedly she has quit...but still she seems very cheerful all
the time. (and she has been caught other times) So it seems to
work for her longer that the VERY EARLY thing.

It varied for me. When I was trying to maintain and
my husband was working it went something like this:
I am going to buy a gram. I will only use a little in the
morning and then be able to eat supper and go to bed each night.
It should last all week. Then I would buy it early the morning.
I would use "just a little". Then it would be a little later I'd
think "okay, it's still early, I can do a little more". Next
thing, I am say "uh-oh, I did too much, now I have to keep going
all night - and the next day, and the next day.
When it was evident that wouldn't work, we tried only buying
small amounts. Our logic was we would just buy enough to maybe
keep us up one day and one night and then whatever happened we
wouldn't get anymore all week. All logic went out the window
after the first hit. We would just be back the next day and the
next.
Then we just gave up maintaining and tried to use as much as we
could as often as we could.
That is just my experience. I know other people that maintained
better in the beginning. |

As a recovering addict I used drugs whenever I could
get my hands on them which was daily. With heroin I used that
every four hours or so to keep the withdrawals away. Crack I
used every 5 minutes and when I moved on to crystal meth (tweak) I would shoot
up every 5-6 hours. Nothing concrete though. Whenever I felt
like it was my motto. |

It didn't matter what I was using.
Once I got started, I kept on using until the dope or the money
was gone. |

As u can see, it rally was different for all of us.
I still enjoyed 90% of the time I spent using right up till the
end when it was making me really sick to use it... then it
suddenly seemed I needed some just to be normal...the party was
over and I got deathly ill.
But for most of the 15 years I still got high more than I felt
miserable... NOT AN ENDORSEMENT BY ALL MEANS!
That's just the way it was for me.
I was under the delusion that I was living like a rock star and
the tweaker in me enjoyed the insanity of it all, most of the
time.
Now my life is relatively boring, but being healthy and alive
sure beats being dead these past 5 years.
(USING?)...IT's JUST NOT AN OPTION------NO MATTER WHAT!!! |
